BOMB THREAT FORCES EVACUATIONS AT OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- (DMN/CBS News) URGENT - Four buildings on the Ohio State campus, including the William Oxley Thompson Memorial Library, were evacuated Tuesday after the FBI received an e-mailed bomb threat. The anonymous threat was sent to the FBI's Washington Bureau, and agents there notified authorities in Columbus.
The threat said there were several explosive devices inside the library, along with McPherson, Scott and Smith laboratories, said Vernon Baisden, the university's public safety director. During a news conference late Tuesday morning, university administrators said no suspicious devices had been found. The investigation was ongoing and the buildings were closed until at least 5 p.m. Tuesday. All other campus buildings and activities were not affected, Baisden said.

In response to the threat, police used the Buckeye Alert system to send more than 30,000 text messages, telling students and staff to stay away from the buildings and surrounding areas. Police could be seen taping off areas outside of the library. Officers with dogs were also in the area. Some officers were seen peering into the windows of parked vehicles.
