Pat Manocchia: "Anatomy of strength training," Pat Manocchia is a must read for coaches and sports development and fitness of all fitness professionals.
Manocchia, owner and founder of La Palestra Center for Preventive Medicine in New York, took 5 essential exercises and built an effective and efficient weight training that addresses the entire body. Too often, in an attempt to reinvent the wheel, the authors of fitness lose sight of the simple basic principles. In "Anatomy of strength training," Mannocchia, it is very clear that his book is all about the basics, and that since the body moves in just 5 different ways - flexion, extension, adduction, and abduction rotation - the program will cover these movements in all his exercises.
The 5 essential exercises are deadlifts, lunges, push-ups, chin-ups and ab wheel. These exercises, and all their variations, provide the basis for a comprehensive and extremely difficult. The book includes a detailed progress complete with games, rehearsals, the increase of weight and rest periods ranging from beginner to advanced. If you are not familiar with all the exercises in the program - or variations of them - instructions and photos in the book coupled with the programming details will give you all the information you need to share these exercises with your customers. Every business needs a coach and the ability to familiarize themselves with these 5 essential exercises and use with all clients.
I do not believe in leaving the details of books and other information products I recommend, because good products must be supported by purchases, thereby rewarding the creator. However, I will use words in describing his own Manocchia program and philosophy. "There are no shortcuts! I want in any way the reader to assume that it is a" seven minutes a day agreement. This is simply not the case. I am, and have always been fiercely opposed the idea of "shortening" or "condensing" the time to be healthy and in shape ... The focus is particularly on how to maximize the quality of the process by organizing and simplifying it. "
I recommend "Anatomy of strength training" to all coaches and athletic development of fitness.
