WHO urges increased tuberculosis

The World Health Organization said Thursday that national health authorities should intensify its efforts in the prevention of TB. Last year, tuberculosis causes about 170 million deaths worldwide, most of which comes from Africa and Asia, prime adults.
World Health Organization in its annual report "2010 Global Tuberculosis Control" that within six months after the diagnosis of tuberculosis can be cured, but in malnutrition or HIV infection will spread very fast crowd.
World Health Organization, Mario Raviglione, director of prevention and control of tuberculosis, said: "Now there are 170 million people a year die from the disease, but now the year 2010, the disease can be cured entirely."
According to the World Health Organization, about 9.4 million last year, new TB cases, including people living with HIV, 110 million, most of them living in sub-Saharan Africa.
The report said, countries need to intensify efforts to ensure that patients receive treatment and rational use of antibiotics to prevent resistance in vivo in patients, and stringent infection control measures to curb the spread of the epidemic rate. (End)
