Really lose weight and keep it off on a 17-day diet?

If you have had your TV on over the past week, then you have heard the promotions for tomorrow's The Doctors TV episode, which will feature Dr. Mike Moreno and his 17-day diet. Funny though, the only place where you can find the doctor's book is on The Doctors' website. Other websites have picked up the promos for the show, but there is nothing independent to give you any information on the book or where it can be purchased..

People can obviously give their books any title they want. But especially at this time of the year, people are desperate to find that miracle pill that lops off the pounds before that big New Year's Eve party. This book will probably fly off the shelves (assuming you can find it), just like all the thousands of others have that you can find for 50 cents at the thrift store.

There is nothing magic about losing weight--you need to limit your caloric intake to healthy foods, and exercise. Pretty simple. Maybe if you have just 2 to 3 pounds to lose, you could probably do it in 17 days. But anything faster, and you will see those pounds again, and in a lot shorter time than 17 days!

Go ahead and watch the program--this writer will, as it is bound to produce some laughs. As for the buying the book? Save your money and use it to buy healthy food.

FOR THOSE IN ALBQUERQUE: The Doctors airs at 9 a.m. on Channel 13, KRQE, CBS, in the Albuquerque area
