Prince William and Catherine Middleton's engagement is barely seven hours old and already the high street has a version of the ring.

Kate Middleton: A very royal style icon in picturesBy 5.30pm, H.Samuel was offering two variations on the blue sapphire and diamond ring, which Prince William presented to his bride-to-be - and which was the same ring his father, the Prince of Wales, gave to Diana, Princess of Wales, in February l981.
A spokesman for the high street jewellery chain described the royal engagement ring as "a classic timeless, yet emotionally-attached ring. Immediately fashionable when his mother first wore it back in the 1980s, this style has been a constant classic in our sales charts".
H. Samuel has created a high street style, at £179, and a higher-price style for £750.
The sapphire is believed to stand for loyaty and fidelity.
