Petrobras becomes third biggest oil firm
Brazil's state-run Petrobras became the world's third-biggest oil firm by market capitalization Monday as it completed a record share issue expected to bring in around 70 billion dollars.After selling the stock on the New York stock exchange from last Friday, in the form of American Depository Receipts, the company began also selling the shares Monday on the Sao Paulo stock exchange.Those shares rose 1.93 percent to 30.23 reals by the end of trading -- higher than the 29.65 reals the new shares were priced at for trading, showing strong demand.

CBOE prices initial public offering (AP)
CBOE Holdings Inc. said Monday that its initial public offering of 11.7 million shares of unrestricted common stock would be priced at $29 per share. The shares will begin trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market on June 15 under the symbol "CBOE."
Why U.S. Steel Fell, And What to Do About It Now
Mark Riddix submits: Tuesday U.S. Steel (X) reported a loss of 267 million dollars for Q4 of 2009. The $1.65 per share loss was 22 cents below analysts expectations of a loss of $1.44. The big surprise is that U.S. Steel is forecasting a similar loss for Q1 of 2010. The projected loss would be the 5th straight loss for U.S. Steel. The stock has been pummeled, dropping over 10% to $50.50 per share Tuesday.
