GM Chevrolet Water won the "best environmental model" Award

General Motors (GM.N: Quote) launched the Chevrolet Water (Volt) plug-in electric vehicle Thursday won the "2011 Green Car of the Year" award.


This is the auto industry's highest award for environmental protection. The same day, GM's shares began trading in New York and Toronto Stock Exchange.


Water Master wind beat Nissan (Nissan Leaf), Ford Fiesta (Fiesta), Hyundai Sonata hybrid (Hyundai Sonata Hybrid) and the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid (MKZ Hybrid), to obtain the title.


The award judges included U.S. talk show "Tonight Show" (Tonight Show) host, car enthusiasts Leno (Jay Leno) and car designer Shelby (Carroll Shelby), among others. (End)
