FAO expected increase in wheat production in 2011/12

Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO, FAO) said on Wednesday that Europe and the U.S. wheat increased, in response to this year's global production decline. But still need to worry about future shortages remain vigilant.

FAO global cereal output in 2010 forecast down to 2.216 billion tons, previously estimated at 2.239 billion tons.

FAO, rice, wheat and white maize adequate supply of food crisis in 2007/08 will reduce the risk of recurrence.

The organization forecast world wheat production in 2010 cut to 648 million tons, representing a decrease of 5.1% in 2009, Russian output is expected to decline 32% over 2009 to 4,200 tons.

Quarter of 2010/11 wheat crop of its high prices, and volatile, coarse grains and rice prices will rise. (End)
