Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Donate $150,000 To SOS Children’s Villages

Hollywood’s power couple,Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt, through their desire to help less-fortunate kids around the world has joined efforts in establishing the Jolie-Pitt Foundation,has again donated $150,000 to SOS Children’s Villages USA in observing the National Adoption Day, the organization announced.

The SOS Children’s Villages’ mission is to help with the “healing and
stabilization of foster-care children, and (to) constitute a critical step
along the way to family reunification or adoption for many children.”

Eight years ago,on March 10, 2002, AngelinaJolie adopted her first child, seven-month-old Cambodian Maddox Chivan.Maddox,born as Rath Vibol he initially lived in a local orphanage in Battambang.

Three years after her first adoption,Jolie adopted a six-month-old girl from Ethiopia, Zahara Marley, on July 6, 2005. Jolie adopted her from Wide Horizons For Children orphanage in Addis Ababa.

On January 19, 2006 a judge in California approved Pitt’s request to legally adopt Jolie’s two children. Their surnames were formally changed to “Jolie-Pitt”.

Jolie gave birth to a daughter, Shiloh Nouvel, in Swakopmund, Namibia.

On March 15, 2007, Jolie adopted a three-year-old boy from Vietnam, Pax Thien, who was born on November 29, 2003 and was abandoned at birth at a local hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.

On July 12,2008,Jolie gave birth to a boy, Knox Léon, and a girl, Vivienne Marcheline, by caesarean section at the Lenval hospital in Nice, France.

The twins’ first photograph was sold to People and Hello! for $14 million—the most expensive celebrity pictures ever taken. The money was then donated to the Jolie/Pitt Foundation.
